Associate of Applied Science in Graphic and Media Design
The purpose of the Associate of Applied Science in Graphic and Media Design is to prepare individuals for successful employment in the field of design. This program combines the skills of the graphic artist, photographer, and videographer
The Graphic and Media Design curriculum is comprehensive, covering all aspects of design in today’s world. You will learn digital photography, digital and layout design, type design, animation, video production, motion graphics design, advertising design and web design. Recently added to the program curriculum is a course teaching interactive design for mobile devices such as smart phones, tablets and the iPad. These extensive skills will make you a competitive candidate in the design job market.
The Associate of Fine Arts in Visual Arts is designed for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges or universities and seek a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts. This program is intended to provide students with a general course of study that parallels the freshman and sophomore years at most colleges and universities. The courses in this program are specifically selected for ease of transfer to most four-year colleges and universities. Following the prescribed coursework in this program will result in graduation with the Associate of Fine Arts degree (AFA). Students should consult with their advisors to ensure that they select electives that best prepare them for the specific requirements of their intended transfer college or university programs of study.
The Careers Studies Certificate in Digital Video empowers and prepares students to succeed as entry-level professionals in the industry of video, motion graphics, and multimedia design by providing a high-quality education with up-to-date workforce skills.
Advanced training is offered in HDSLR video, advanced audio editing acquisition and editing, color grading, retouching continuous lighting for video, use of hardware for professional video production including sliders and cranes, digital audio recorders, and boom microphones as well as animation and motion graphics techniques.

The Photography Career Studies certificate prepares students to succeed as an entry-level photographer, photography assistant, freelance photographer, or photography hobbyists by providing courses in commercial photography, drone photography, studio lighting and much more.
The program will help students increase their expressive capabilities in the visual arts by developing an understanding of artistic theories as well as the technical skills necessary to be a photographer.
