Welcome to Thomas Nelson Community College (becoming Virginia Peninsula Community College) Visual Arts Department.
The Visual Arts Department at Thomas Nelson offers two degree options in the creative arts and two career studies certificates; an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic and Media Design, and an Associate of Fine Arts in Visual Arts. These curriculums merge traditional art skills in drawing and design with new media and the latest industry-standard software. Instruction provides a foundation of creative problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, and visual communication theory.
